CallPal

Connect CallPal to Twenty

Sync the people in your Twenty workspace into CallPal, power-dial them from the browser, and have every call written back to the person as a note. Setup takes about five minutes, on Twenty Cloud or a self-hosted server.

Deciding whether to use it at all? What the Twenty integration does.

Before you start

  • A CallPal account. The 14-day trial is enough — no card required, and the integration is available on every plan.
  • A Twenty workspace, and permission to create API keys in it. A self-hosted Twenty must be reachable over HTTPS from the internet.
  • In CallPal, permission to manage integrations. Owners and admins have it by default.
  1. Create an API key in Twenty

In Twenty, open Settings → Developers → API and select Create API key.

Name it CallPal, so it can be revoked on its own later. Its role decides what CallPal can see: it needs to read People and to read and write Notes. Reading Companies adds each person’s company name.

Copy the key when Twenty shows it — it is shown once. Treat it like a password.

    Workspace URL yourcompany.twenty.com
    API key eyJhbGciOi...
  2. Add the connection in CallPal

In CallPal, go to Settings → Integrations, find Twenty, and select it.

Enter the address you open Twenty at — yourcompany.twenty.com, or your own domain for a self-hosted server — and paste the key. CallPal checks both against your workspace immediately, so a wrong key or address shows up now rather than at the first sync.

  3. Choose the fields to import

Twenty people are what CallPal imports. Pick the fields worth keeping: name, phones, email, job title, company and LinkedIn.

CallPal maps the name and the phone for you. Numbers come across in full international format, built from the number and the country code Twenty keeps beside it, and a person whose only number is an additional one can still be called.

  4. Run the first sync

Start the sync. People appear as they arrive, so a large workspace fills in progressively rather than showing nothing until it finishes.

After that CallPal picks up only what changed, every 30 minutes, and you can trigger a full sync by hand from the connection page.

  5. Call a person or a whole list

Open any synced contact and select the phone number, or tick several and use Call selected to work through them one after another.

When the call ends, CallPal writes a note linked to the person, with the duration, outcome, start time, whether a recording exists, and a link back to the call in CallPal. It shows on the person’s Notes tab in Twenty.

What syncs

Twenty → CallPal
People: name, primary and additional phones, email, job title, company name and LinkedIn.
Calls → Twenty
Every completed call becomes a note linked to the person you dialled, carrying the duration, outcome, start time, whether a recording exists, and a link back to the call in CallPal.

What it does not do

Worth reading before you roll this out to a team — these are design decisions, not gaps we are about to close.

  • CallPal reads your people and does not edit them. It never changes a field or a view, and only ever creates call notes.
  • Companies and opportunities are not imported as their own lists. A Twenty company has no phone of its own; a person carries their company’s name.
  • CallPal is outbound only. No inbound routing, no IVR, no predictive dialing.

Questions

Where do I create the API key?

In Twenty, Settings → Developers → API → Create API key. The key is shown once, so copy it before leaving the page.

Does it work with a self-hosted Twenty?

Yes. Enter your own server’s address. It must be reachable over HTTPS from the internet; a server on a private network or plain HTTP is refused. If the server is too old to hold call notes, CallPal says so when you connect.

Why are some people missing?

CallPal sees what the API key’s role can see. If the role is limited, give it read access to People, then run a full sync from the connection page.

How are calls recorded in Twenty?

As a note linked to the person, on their Notes tab, with the call details and a link back to CallPal.

Which phone number does it call from?

Your own. CallPal is bring-your-own-carrier: you connect your own SIP trunk, calls are billed by your carrier at your rate, and outbound calls present your company number.

What happens if my API key is revoked?

The sync stops and the connection shows an error. Create a new key and paste it on the connection page to resume. People already synced into CallPal stay there.
