Connect CallPal to Attio

Sync your Attio records into CallPal, call them from the browser, and have every call written back to the record it came from. Setup takes about two minutes.

Deciding whether to use it at all? What the Attio integration does.

Before you start

  • A CallPal account. The 14-day trial is enough — no card required, and the integration is available on every plan.
  • An Attio workspace member allowed to approve third-party applications.
  • In CallPal, permission to manage integrations. Owners and admins have it by default.
  1. Open Integrations in CallPal

In CallPal, go to Settings → Integrations, find Attio, and select it.

The CallPal Integrations page, with the Attio card among the available connectors.
  2. Approve access in Attio

Attio connects over OAuth. Select Continue and CallPal sends you to Attio, where you choose the workspace and approve the access being asked for.

Approve, and Attio returns you to CallPal with the connection made. No access token is ever entered into CallPal, and you can revoke it from Attio at any time.

The Connect Attio dialog in CallPal, explaining that you will be sent to Attio to approve access.
  3. Choose which objects to import

This is the step where Attio differs from every other CRM CallPal connects to. Attio has no fixed schema — People and Companies are just the objects most workspaces start with, and yours may have several more that you built.

So CallPal does not offer a hard-coded list. It reads the objects and attributes from your workspace after connecting, and shows you what is actually there. If you have modelled Investors, Properties or Candidates, those appear here alongside People.

The Attio connection page in CallPal after connecting.
  4. Check the field mapping

For each object you import, CallPal asks which attribute holds the name, which hold the phone numbers, and which hold email — read from your own workspace, so your attributes are the ones on offer.

The phone mapping decides what actually gets dialled, so it is the one worth checking twice on a custom object.

  5. Run the first sync

Start the sync. Records appear as they arrive, so a large workspace fills in progressively rather than showing nothing until it finishes.

After that CallPal re-syncs every 30 minutes, and you can trigger one by hand from the connection page.

  6. Make a call

Open any synced record and select the phone number, or add records to a power-dialer campaign to work a list.

When the call ends, CallPal writes it back to the Attio record as a note carrying the direction, duration, outcome and a link to the recording. The contact page in CallPal also carries an Open in Attio link, so the record is one click away while you are on the phone.

What syncs

Attio → CallPal
Whatever objects your workspace actually has — People and Companies by default, plus any you have built yourself. Attributes are read from your own schema.
Calls → Attio
Every completed call is written to the matching record as a note: direction, duration, outcome, start time, whether a recording exists, and a link back to the call in CallPal.

What it does not do

Worth reading before you roll this out to a team — these are design decisions, not gaps we are about to close.

  • Calls are logged as notes, because Attio has no fixed call-activity object to write to. The first line of every note is a stable marker, so they are straightforward to search and filter.
  • CallPal reads your records and does not edit them. It never changes an attribute and never creates a record.
  • CallPal is outbound only. No inbound routing, no IVR, no predictive dialing.

Questions

Does it support my custom objects?

Yes, and that is the point of how this connector works. CallPal reads the object and attribute list from your workspace after connecting rather than shipping a fixed list, so anything you have modelled is importable.

Do I need an Attio access token?

No. Attio connects over OAuth, so you approve CallPal from your own workspace and no token is copied anywhere.

How are calls recorded in Attio?

As a note on the matching record, with direction, duration, outcome and a link back to the call in CallPal. Attio has no native call object, so a note is the honest place for it.

How often does it sync?

Every 30 minutes by default, and you can trigger a sync manually from the connection page at any time.

Which phone number does it call from?

Your own. CallPal is bring-your-own-carrier: you connect your own SIP trunk, calls are billed by your carrier at your rate, and outbound calls present your company number rather than a rep’s personal line.

How do I disconnect it?

Delete the connection in CallPal, or revoke CallPal from your Attio workspace settings. Either stops the sync immediately; records already in CallPal stay there.
