Connect CallPal to Zoho CRM

Sync your Zoho leads, contacts, accounts and deals into CallPal, call them from the browser, and have every call written back to the record as a native Zoho call. Setup takes about two minutes.

Deciding whether to use it at all? What the Zoho CRM integration does.

Before you start

  • A CallPal account. The 14-day trial is enough — no card required, and the integration is available on every plan.
  • A Zoho CRM user allowed to approve third-party applications. On most Zoho plans that means an administrator.
  • In CallPal, permission to manage integrations. Owners and admins have it by default.
  1. Open Integrations in CallPal

In CallPal, go to Settings → Integrations. Every connector CallPal offers is listed there — find Zoho CRM and select it.

The CallPal Integrations page, with the Zoho CRM card among the available connectors.
  2. Approve access in Zoho

Zoho CRM connects over OAuth, so there is nothing to copy and paste. Select Continue and CallPal sends you to Zoho, where you sign in and approve the access CallPal is asking for.

Approve, and Zoho returns you to CallPal with the connection made. No password or API key is ever entered into CallPal, and you can withdraw the access from Zoho at any time without involving us.

The Connect Zoho CRM dialog in CallPal, explaining that you will be sent to Zoho to approve access.
  3. Choose which modules to import

Pick the Zoho modules to bring across. Leads and Contacts are selected for you; Accounts and Deals are there if you call organisations or work from an open pipeline.

Custom modules are supported too. CallPal reads the module list from your account rather than from a fixed list, so anything you have built shows up here alongside the standard four.

The Zoho CRM connection page in CallPal, with Leads and Contacts selected as the modules to import.
  4. Check the field mapping

For each module, CallPal reads its fields from your Zoho account — including the custom fields you have added — and asks which one holds the name, which hold the phone numbers, and which hold email.

The phone mapping is the one to check carefully: it decides what actually gets dialled. If your team keeps mobile numbers in a custom field, this is where you say so.

  5. Run the first sync

Start the sync. Records appear in CallPal as they arrive, so a large Zoho account fills in progressively rather than showing nothing until it finishes.

After that, CallPal re-syncs automatically every 30 minutes, and you can trigger a sync by hand from the connection page whenever you need a record immediately.

  6. Make a call

Open any synced record and select the phone number to dial, or add records to a power-dialer campaign to work through a list.

When the call ends, CallPal writes it to Zoho as a native call record — not a note — so it appears in the Calls module and in the record’s activity timeline, and Zoho reports and workflows can act on it like any other call.

What syncs

Zoho modules → CallPal
Leads, Contacts, Accounts and Deals, plus any custom modules in your account. Fields are read from your own schema, so custom fields come across too.
Calls → Zoho CRM
Every completed call is written as a native Zoho call on the matching record: direction, duration, outcome, start time, and a link back to the call in CallPal.

What it does not do

Worth reading before you roll this out to a team — these are design decisions, not gaps we are about to close.

  • CallPal reads your records and does not edit them. The only thing written back is the call. It never changes a field on a lead or creates one.
  • Deals and Accounts are for calling, not pipeline management. CallPal will dial the number on the record; it does not move a deal between stages or update an amount.
  • CallPal is outbound only. There is no inbound routing, no IVR and no predictive dialing — one call per rep, with the rep on the line before it rings.

Questions

Do I need to create a Zoho API client or a self-client?

No. CallPal is a registered Zoho application, so you approve it from your own account and nothing needs to be created in the Zoho developer console.

Will it import my custom modules?

Yes. CallPal reads the module and field list from your account rather than a fixed list, so custom modules and custom fields appear alongside the standard ones.

How are calls recorded in Zoho?

As native Zoho call records on the matching lead, contact, account or deal — so they show up in the Calls module and the activity timeline, and your existing Zoho reports include them without any change.

How often does it sync?

Every 30 minutes by default, and you can trigger a sync manually from the connection page at any time.

Which phone number does it call from?

Your own. CallPal is bring-your-own-carrier: you connect your own SIP trunk, calls are billed by your carrier at your rate, and outbound calls present your company number rather than a rep’s personal line.

How do I disconnect it?

Delete the connection in CallPal, or revoke CallPal from Connected Apps in your Zoho account. Either stops the sync immediately. Records already synced into CallPal stay there.
