Call whisper
Call whisper is a supervision feature that lets a manager speak to a rep during a live call while the person on the other end hears nothing. It is used for coaching in the moment — prompting an answer, correcting a price, steering a conversation that is going wrong.
It sits between two other modes. Listening is silent to both parties, and [barging](/glossary/call-barge) joins the manager to the call so everyone hears them.
Whisper is the mode that matters most on a team where someone is always new, because the alternative — reviewing a recording on Friday — arrives after the deal is already lost.
Whispering into a call means listening to it, which is a monitoring activity with the same legal and ethical weight as recording one. Telling a team in writing that supervision is on is the norm, and CallPal writes every supervision action to an audit log. Live monitoring in CallPal.
