Progressive dialer
A progressive dialer places the next call as soon as a rep becomes available, one call per rep, without giving the rep time to review the record first. It sits between a preview dialer, which waits for the rep, and a predictive dialer, which dials ahead of them.
In practice the terms progressive dialer and power dialer are used interchangeably by most vendors, and where a distinction is drawn it is usually that a progressive dialer gives no pause between calls at all.
Because it never places more calls than there are reps, it shares the power dialer’s main property: nobody answers to silence, and there is no abandoned call rate to manage.
