What you can do with Insightly and CallPal
Three lists worth calling
Contacts, leads and organizations all come across with their phone numbers, so a rep can work a lead list in the morning and an account list in the afternoon without leaving CallPal.
Your labels, not internal IDs
Insightly stores lead status, lead source and record owners as internal references. CallPal resolves them into the words you chose, so you can sort a calling list by “Qualified” or by whose account it is.
Right region, first time
Insightly puts each account on its own regional service, so CallPal asks for your API address alongside your key. A European or Asia-Pacific account connects exactly as smoothly as a North American one.
Quick to import
Insightly hands over records in large batches, so even a substantial account is imported and ready to dial shortly after you connect it.

The Insightly objects CallPal supports
Four kinds of record come across, and three of them are calling lists.
- Contacts
- Full name, every phone number including the work line, email, job title, organization, background notes, owner and full address, plus the custom fields your team added. The default calling list.
- Leads
- Full name, phone numbers, organization, address and owner, with lead status and lead source shown as the labels you defined, not as reference IDs.
- Organizations
- Organization name, main phone, background and address, for account-level calling.
- Opportunities
- Not a calling list. Insightly opportunities carry no phone number of any kind, so there’s nothing to dial and CallPal doesn’t offer them as a contact source.
Why call from Insightly with CallPal
Insightly is usually chosen because it holds a whole business in one place: contacts, leads, organizations and the projects that follow them. The gap is the phone: the record tells a rep exactly who to call and then leaves them to dial it by hand somewhere else.
CallPal closes that with one click. The call goes out on your own SIP trunk with your company caller ID, and the outcome, the duration and a link to the recording come back as a note on the record, so the next person to open it sees what happened without asking.
Two Insightly details are handled for you. Accounts live on different regional services around the world, which is why the connect form asks for your API address as well as your key. Get it from the same settings screen and a European account works exactly like a North American one. And the fields Insightly stores as internal references, such as lead status and record owner, are turned back into the labels and names you actually use, so your calling list reads the way your CRM does.
How to connect Insightly
- Step 01
Open your API settings
Insightly → User Settings → API Key. That screen shows both your API key and the API address for your region, so copy both.
- Step 02
Connect your account
Paste them into Settings → Integrations. CallPal checks the pair before saving anything.
- Step 03
Choose what to import, then dial
Pick contacts, leads, organizations or all three, keep the fields you want, and start calling. Notes post back to the record on their own.

What people ask about Insightly
Why does CallPal ask for an API address as well as a key?
Insightly hosts accounts on different regional services, so there’s no single address to assume. Yours is shown on the same User Settings screen as your API key. Copy both, and any region connects the same way.
Can I dial Insightly opportunities?
No. Opportunities in Insightly carry no phone number, so there would be nothing to call. Contacts, leads and organizations are the three lists CallPal offers.
Do lead status and owner come across properly?
Yes. Insightly stores them as internal references, and CallPal turns them into the labels and user names you defined, so you can filter a calling list the way you would inside Insightly.
Where do calls appear in Insightly?
As a note on the contact, lead or organization you dialled, carrying the outcome, how long the call lasted, who made it and a link to the recording.
