Cloud phone system
Aircall vs Dialpad
Two cloud phone systems that have taken different bets. Aircall invested in call handling and its integration marketplace; Dialpad put its money into the AI layer — live transcription, coaching prompts, post-call summaries.
The short answer
Buy Dialpad if the constraint is coaching and call review, and you want every conversation transcribed and searchable without a second tool. Buy Aircall if the constraint is call handling and integrations, and you would rather have a simpler product that does the phone part well.
Side by side
Seven capabilities that separate outbound calling tools, answered for each.

We make CallPal, a competitor to both, and this page says so rather than pretending to be a neutral review site. Both columns are our own read of publicly available information and can change; no pricing is quoted for either, because plans get renamed and a stale number is worse than none. Check both vendors’ sites for the current answer.
Choose Aircall if…
- You need inbound: IVR menus, ring groups, business-hours routing, voicemail.
- One number the whole company answers, not just a sales team.
- You would rather one vendor handled the software and the phone service together, on one invoice.
Choose Dialpad if…
- You want every call transcribed, summarised and searchable without adding a second tool.
- Coaching and call review are the constraint, not the number of dials.
- You need a full phone system and a contact centre from one vendor.
If neither quite fits
Both are full phone systems, which is most of what you are paying for. A team that only dials out is buying inbound routing, queues and — with Dialpad — an AI layer it may never open. CallPal does none of those three and bills no minutes; whether that trade is right depends entirely on whether anyone answers inbound calls.
Aircall vs Dialpad FAQ
Is Dialpad’s AI worth paying for?
If call review is your bottleneck rather than dial volume, yes — transcription and summaries turn coaching from a sampling exercise into a search. If your problem is that reps are not getting enough conversations, it solves nothing.
Which is better for a small sales team?
Both are priced and shaped for companies rather than sales floors. Between them, Aircall is usually simpler to run and Dialpad gives you more per seat if you will use the AI. A dedicated dialer is a third answer if outbound is all you do.
Do they both do power dialing?
Aircall has a power dialer. Dialpad’s outbound dialing sits in its contact-centre tiers. In both cases it is a feature of a larger product rather than the product, which is the usual reason teams end up looking at dedicated dialers.
More head to heads
Outbound-only, on your own carrier
CallPal is a power dialer and click-to-call layer for teams on smaller CRMs. No inbound, no predictive dialing, and no markup on minutes — because we never sell them.
