CallPal

Kixie vs PhoneBurner

A click-to-call layer against a pure power dialer. Both are for outbound teams, but they remove different work: Kixie removes the trip to the keypad, PhoneBurner removes everything between one call and the next.

The short answer

PhoneBurner if the job is working a long list end to end, with voicemail drop and follow-up email in the same tool. Kixie if reps work individual records inside HubSpot or Pipedrive and dialing should happen where they already are.

We make CallPal, a competitor to both, and this page says so rather than pretending to be a neutral review site. Both columns are our own read of publicly available information and can change; no pricing is quoted for either, because plans get renamed and a stale number is worse than none. Check both vendors’ sites for the current answer.

Choose Kixie if…

  • You are deep in HubSpot or Pipedrive and want dialing inside the CRM, not beside it.
  • You want SMS on the same numbers, in the same place.
  • Reps should never leave the CRM tab, and one context switch is a real cost to you.

Choose PhoneBurner if…

  • You want voicemail drop and templated follow-up email in the same tool as the dialer.
  • You would rather use the dialer’s own lightweight CRM than connect an external one.
  • A long track record on very large call lists matters to your buying decision.

If neither quite fits

They differ on where the rep works, not on who bills the minutes — both are bundled. If you want PhoneBurner’s list-working model with your own carrier and native connectors for the smaller CRMs, that combination is what CallPal is.

Kixie vs PhoneBurner FAQ

What is the difference between click-to-call and a power dialer?

Click-to-call dials one number you chose, from wherever you were looking at it. A power dialer works a list: it dials, and when the call ends it advances to the next contact without you picking one. The second removes far more overhead but only helps if you have a list to work.

Does either do voicemail drop?

PhoneBurner is built around it. Kixie has voicemail features too, though it is less central to the product. If leaving the same message forty times a day is your reality, weigh this heavily — it is twenty to thirty seconds per unanswered call.

Which suits a CRM that is not HubSpot or Pipedrive?

PhoneBurner, generally, because it does not depend on overlaying a CRM page it recognises. Its own CRM integrations are still weighted toward the majors, so check yours.
