Cloud phone system
CallPal vs CallHippo
CallHippo is a virtual phone system for small teams: numbers in a long list of countries, inbound handling, and a power dialer once you are on the higher plans. It is a lot of telephony for the money, and for a small business that needs a phone presence in several markets it does the job.
CallPal is not a phone system. There is no inbound, no IVR and no number to hand out — the numbers come from your own carrier and exist to be dialed from. What you get instead is a dialer built as the product rather than unlocked as a plan upgrade.

The CallHippo column is our own read of publicly available information and can change. The CRM-coverage row was checked against each vendor’s own integrations directory on 22 August 2026 — a listing there is not proof of a native two-way sync, which is what that row is really about. We quote no competitor pricing at all: plans get renamed and features move between tiers, and a stale number is worse than none.
Choose CallHippo if…
- You need local numbers in several countries and somebody to supply them.
- Inbound matters — people should be able to call you back on the same number.
- One low-cost tool covering the whole phone requirement is the priority.
Choose CallPal if…
- Nobody answers inbound; the phone is purely an outbound sales tool.
- You want the dialer as the product, not as a feature on the tier above.
- Your CRM is a smaller one needing a native connector and call write-back.
- You would rather negotiate minutes with a carrier than accept a bundled rate.
The CRMs CallPal was built for
Contacts sync in, calls go back to the record they came from — as a native call activity where the CRM has one, as a formatted note where it does not.
Plus CSV and Excel import for anything not on the list. See all integrations.
CallPal vs CallHippo FAQ
Does CallPal give me phone numbers?
No. You bring numbers on your own carrier account, and CallPal presents them as caller ID. That is more setup on day one and it is why nobody marks up your minutes.
Can CallPal dial internationally?
Yes, subject to what your own carrier supports and charges. Because the contract is yours, international rates are something you negotiate rather than something a platform sets for you.
Is a dialer worth it over a phone system with a dialer in it?
If dialing is occasional, no. If your team spends its day working lists, the difference shows in the parts a bundled dialer tends not to have: a shared server-side queue, live supervision, and calls written back onto the CRM record automatically.
